The Ol’ Switcheroo
Well, it has been almost a week since I started my new job and I can honestly say that I love it. It’s quiet and I’m getting a ton of work done. The major bonus is they are basically paying me to learn. Until my paperwork goes through in a week or so, I can’t get access to the shared drives in order to really do any projects, but I’m having a blast learning ASP.Net. I don’t like how Microsoft’s Visual Studio writes some of the code when building small apps to generate templates, so I’m finding that I am writing more of my own code.
I’m really excited that I get to take what I’ve learned over the past year and a half and make a difference in a new environment. They currently have a small home grown CMS in place, but they are moving to a larger Enterprise application in the coming months. Since I work for a secured government facility, that’s all I can really talk about at this time. I’m still learning what I can and can’t talk about, but according to my boss, as far as the design side goes, I can share a lot of what I do. She said she would inform me of the stuff I can’t share outside.
More to come…
