Google AdSense

Saturday, June 12th, 2004

After creating my blog, I wanted to check around and see what other people were doing with there’s and I noticed that Google Ads were quite prevalent on many sites. I always said that I didn’t like web ads, but I’ve heard good things about Google AdSense, so I figured, why not give them a try.

Google AdSense is targeted advertising based on what’s on the page that the ads are placed on. If you notice, the ads reflect my posts, or at least they should. It’s a pretty cool technology and what is tied in with Gmail, but is supposedly done differently than Adsense. The only ads that are displayed are relevant text ads, and even then, they don’t always show. AdSense has the option of adding graphical advertising if one wants.

Word to the Blog

Well ladies and gentlemen, after 5 years of saying I’d get a site up and functional, here it is, Stage 1. I will roll out my site in three stages:

  • Stage 1: Implementation of the CMS for my Weblog - CHECK!
  • Stage 2: Implementation of the rest of my site. I will be using the same CMS as my Weblog to build all other sections of my site. This way the site can be totally dynamic and everything will tie together.
  • Stage 3: Using pretty much the same naming scheme from the basic CSS that came with this CMS, I’m going to give my site my look.
